Quick question about handling brass for my precision rifle ammo. Do you guys usually deprim and size it all in one go, or do you like to take those steps one at a time?

I’ve really gone back and forth on this whole reloading process. After trying out different methods, I’ve finally found a groove that suits me for precision loads. I deprime and size all in one go. I use a full-length sizing die with a decapping pin, and it really helps keep everything flowing when I’m cranking through a batch of brass. For me, it’s all about consistency and efficiency, especially when I’m prepping for matches or long-range shooting.

My dad has a routine where he first deprimed the brass, then cleans it up, and sizes it. He’s really focused on ensuring the primer pockets are spotless and minimizing any chance of scratching the brass or the dies. It does require a bit more work, but if you’re going for that high level of precision like for match ammo, I totally get the attraction.

Slow it down and separate the steps if your goal is to get that match-grade consistency. But if you're just having a good time, go for the one-pass and save yourself some time.
