Summer Prep for Hunting Season: What Works for You?

Summer can feel like a lull before the hunt, but it's when I try to get my act together. I've been checking gear and hitting the gym, although I know there's more I should probably do; I'm really curious what others focus on during these months to get ready for the excitement of fall.

In Alaska the hunting "season" is open year around. Especially (more so) for those with subsistence permits. Even without those it is pretty much open year around. Many Big Game species open in 6 days.
