M1s are quite forgiving to work on but I completely understand the nerves that come with a classic like that. What do you plan to do with it? If it’s just a basic clean, inspection and function check, there are plenty of good resources out there. The CMP has some solid tech documents and there are nice YouTube vids that can walk you through the disassembly process step by step. Just take your time and don’t force anything.
