Been thinking about ramen for my prep stash. It's cheap, filling, and can last a good while, but how nutritious is it really? I've got a few cases stored, but I wonder how far past the expiration date they still hold up. Also, any tips on better storage methods than just the box? Do you guys rotate your ramen or have tricks to jazz it up for long-term situations? Seems like it holds longer than they say.

My Ramen will last longer than I will. I rotate everything. Ramen will fill your gut but it is not a magic elixer, you need a well balanced diet. I add many different things, veggies, dehydrated veggies, various meats. Anything to provide nutrition, flavor, or texture. Food fatigue can destroy you so don't count on Ramen.

I am (right now) eating some that have a best by date of 14 months ago. I have in the past had to throw some that had rancid noodles, but I kept the flavor packets and use them. I pay about $6.00 for a case of 24 delivered to my door from Amazon, plus I get 5% back, so cost is $5.70 for 24 meals delivered. You can smell the noodles if they are rancid.
