Running an AK variant taught me things my AR never could

It’s rougher, heavier and has a completely different manual of arms. It also shoots noticeably different. Running it well meant unlearning some habits and building new ones. Every platform teaches you something, sticking to just one means leaving knowledge on the table.
 
AK will break your habits real fast but once it clicks, you start appreciating both platforms way more.
 
Shooting an AK really puts you in your place, in a good way. It makes you focus on the basics instead of depending on the gun to do all the work.
 
When I started really working with an AK, it made me question everything I'd always just taken for granted. It really sharpened my focus, made me pay attention to what I was actually doing and not just running through the motions.
