Let’s discuss the long-term reliability of red dots on carry and defensive firearms. What window size and optic height have you found to be the most consistent? Are you using a traditional co-witness, a lower sight picture, or have you taken the irons off entirely? Please share your gun, optic, mount/plate, and iron configuration so we can create a helpful comparison list.

I'm running an RMR on my carry 1911 paired with a Dawson Precision plate and lower 1/3 co-witness irons. This RMR has been rock solid for over 5 years now. I really appreciate the larger window of the RMR compared to the smaller dots. It makes it so much easier to acquire the target when the pressure's on.
