What fishing taught me about observation

Fishing taught me to read water instead of just looking at it. The depth changes and current shifts all matter more than what you can see on the surface and that kind of patience and observation has carried over into other parts of how I train and think.

That’s a good takeaway, reading what’s beneath the surface beats reacting to what’s obvious.

Fishing really does that you start noticing details everywhere not just on the water but in daily life too.

I remember standing beside my grandfather at dawn, watching him study ripples before casting once. Years later, I realized he was teaching patience more than fishing techniques.
