What would be our state firearm?

The other day, I found myself thinking about state symbols and realized that Alaska doesn’t have an official state gun. Isn’t that surprising, given our strong gun culture and frontier history? If we had to select one, what do you think would be the most appropriate choice?

The clear choice would be the Winchester 94 in 30-30 or possibly a lever action in 45-70.

If I had to pick one, I'd nominate the Winchester Model 70. It's been carried by countless hunters across Alaska and has a reputation for reliability in tough conditions. A close second would be the trusty Ruger Alaskan.
