What’s Too Much for Range Clothing?

So I've been hitting the range more lately and I'm curious about what people are wearing. I'm not talking about tactical vests and the full setups — just everyday clothes.

I've noticed that some folks wear camo even when they're just doing basics. I get the practicality out in the wild, but at the range? It feels a bit much for me. I mean, I've seen people just doing drills or blasting through a few mags, and camo kind of feels like overkill.

I've been sticking to jeans, a plain shirt, and some sturdy boots. I want to be comfortable and safe, but I also don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. Like, no flip-flops or anything obviously. Just trying to blend in, you know?

Maybe I'm overthinking it? What do you all typically wear? Any pet peeves about range fashion? Just curious to see if I'm on the right track or being too picky.

Your range clothing should include eye and ear protection. When I was a range officer I only commented on one shooters clothing once. This gal was showing a lot of cleavage, and she had plenty to show. When I started to mention it I got this look like I was a perv and I could keep my morals to myself. I said, "Hey, I'm a guy and I enjoy your outfit as much as the next guy. Unfortunately, cleavage tends to attract HOT brass and that is uncomfortable." She changed her opinion of me and changed her top.

Wearing a hat with a bill or brim is helpful to keep hot brass off your face, especially if you wear glasses. That is not where you want to get burned. No bare feet. Wear what you are comfortable wearing and don't worry about others, this is not a fashion show or a competition. If you're shooting alone much of this doesn't apply but look to safety. We focus on keeping the muzzle in a safe direction but hot brass another stuff can create a hazard.
